Job Description

Position Overview: The manager of member programs collaborates across the association to develop and execute programs, content and education to strengthen engagement of CEOs and other key stakeholders in our consumer-packaged goods member companies. Reporting to the vice president, member engagement and experience, this role manages the association’s educational offerings, supporting day-to-day activities from identifying new member engagement opportunities to building relevant content at in-person events that provide deep member value. This role is a key member on the industry engagement team that creates white-glove member experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Innovation

Recommend, design, and deliver world-class virtual and in-person programs and education that generates member value.

Partner with internal subject matter experts to identify products and programs that engage key member communities, advance advocacy priorities, and offer revenue potential.

Bring to life insightful, thought-provoking content virtually and in-person throughout the year in partnership with leadership.

Recommend, analyze, and improve educational offerings and processes to enhance the member experience, deepen engagement and generate internal efficiencies.

Monitor the industry landscape for business and policy trends to curate timely and compelling member content.

Program Execution

Manage end-to-end content creation for all educational offerings, including content agenda, run of show development, drafting remarks and questions.

Identify and recommend program speakers; lead speaker management for all events, including initial outreach, contract, pre-session calls and onsite management.

Team with senior manager of meetings and events to deliver seamless member experiences onstage and oversee relationship with key vendors (production, DMCs, continuing education accreditation firms, course instructors and speaker bureaus).

Manage the virtual program portfolio, including member webinars, the association’s online bookstore and the Food and Beverage Labeling Course.

Build and create project plans for virtual education including convening subject matter experts, managing event registration, crafting session descriptions, collecting promotional content, fulfilling timelines, and directing the live program.

Partner with the communications team to promote programs, educational offerings, and speakers to drive relevant attendee registrations.

Requirements:

Experience & Education:

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Education, Nonprofit Management, or related field.

2-4 years of related employment, preferably in a trade association.

Experience creating and implementing educational programming for virtual and in-person events.

Production and vendor management experience is a plus.

Experience sourcing and managing speakers.

Exposure to corporations and executives as customers and stakeholders preferred.

Skills:

Continuous learner - receptive to feedback and direction, and in search of constant self- improvement.

Strong ability to analyze and synthesize data from multiple sources in order to identify themes and develop recommendations.

Demonstrative collaborator with the ability to work on cross-functional teams.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with external members, vendors, and internal stakeholders effectively and articulately.

Demonstrative ability to produce and facilitate virtual meetings.

Strong service mindset with a passion for finding new and creative ways to deliver value to members.

Strong project management skills – including ability to engage and manage senior-level leader’s participation.

Quick study, able to learn on the fly the many complexities and nuances of our industry and member priorities.

Ability to learn and develop proficiency in new systems and digital applications.

Advanced proficiency in Office 365 Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Zoom.

Experience with Aventri/Stova and Impexium is a plus.
