Job Description
The System Administrator provide enterprise systems maintenance and repair, maintain servers, software systems, and networks supporting HQ ACC Directorate of Cyberspace and Information Dominance (ACC/A6).
Responsibilities
Implement, troubleshoot, diagnose, validate, and resolve hardware, software, firmware, and network problems for system administrators.
Configure, maintain, and upgrade network connection devices, network hardware/software equipment, and automation equipment, to include running utility software, isolating client, server, or peripheral configuration problems, cleaning file systems of extraneous temporary and log files, and maintaining the approved system baseline.
Coordinate installation, network implementation, and operation of systems with the host unit, planners, and external system program offices.
Assist Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) in providing systems security management, technical analysis, and documentation support.
Administer user accounts, file permissions, print queues, load and configure software packages, updates, and patches and perform system backups.
Develop and enhance SolarWinds application LAN/WAN and server monitoring, reporting, and alerting processes across the MAJCOM to improve device health, status, reporting, and patching.
Identify communication service requirements, system architectures and designs; perform analysis, design, and create integration/ implementation plans with required documentation.
Provide weekly updates of activity and status as requested by the government lead; attend meetings to provide leadership situational awareness and recommendations through briefings.
Provide support, input, and documentation for effective project management of network related programs and projects as requested by the government lead.
Qualifications:
Possess a Secret clearance.
IAWIP IAT II baseline certification (i.e., GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP)
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information management or related discipline plus three (3) years’ experience
Associates Degree in computer science, information management or related discipline plus seven (7) years’ experience.
Two (2) years’ experience in administrating, configuring, installing and technical expertise in managing and operating SolarWinds.
One (1) year experience in telecommunications and network administration in a large, distributed environment with emphasis on military operations.
One (1) year experience in life-cycle management of LAN/ Wide Area Network (WAN), test and evaluation, data performance and collection, quality assurance metrics and Microsoft Office applications.
Two (2) years’ experience demonstrating network planning and integration knowledge.
Two (2) years’ experience with numbered air force (NAF) or higher staff organizations and baselevel network architecture, as well as technical experience working issues with AFSPC NetOps organizations.
