Salary: $18.00 to $24.00 per hour, DOE, plus monthly bonus potential.

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a Medical Billing Specialist who is seeking their next exciting opportunity in a complex and ever-evolving work environment! In this role, you will utilize your exceptional customer service and phone skills while you work with the Intake Department and Documentation Specialists to collect information needed to bill medical claims. You will complete electronic and manual billing and work through denials and accounts receivable.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Independently work monthly reports to maintain a 95% collection rate.

Request assignment of benefits, prescriptions, letters of medical necessity, and other required information.

Perform manual or electronic processing of reimbursement claims.

Perform billing and collections of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance billing and collections.

Perform private pay billing and collections.

Maintain accurate and complete records concerning billing activity.

Track and request renewal authorizations as needed.

Maintain billing files.

Communicate problems and concerns with supervisor/office manager, that may lead to inaccurate or untimely completion of reimbursement processing.

Keep up to date with compliance, coverage criteria, International Classification of Diseases 10th Revision (ICD-10) information, and update all employees as needed. This includes (but not limited to) maintaining familiarity with the rules and regulations regarding the type of coverage being billed.

Serve as customer service liaison when patients have questions about bills.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.

Demonstrate timeliness, courtesy, sincerity, and patience when dealing with customers.

Always market the company in a positive and professional manner, performing all job functions with Company Mission, Vision, and Goal Statements in mind.

Flexible attitude and willingness to take on extra tasks as necessary.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

High degree of integrity.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Excellent communication and customer relations skills required.

Brightree knowledge is preferred, but not required.

Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Excellent time management skills.

Must be detail oriented.

Ability to cater to diverse customer base.

Knowledge in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility.

Must be eligible to work in the United States.

SCHEDULE

This is a full-time position that will require a 40-hour work week.

Hours: Generally, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Monday-Friday.

Overtime as needed.

Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory response from a Background Screening.
