Job Title: Aide

Organization: Athlos Academy of Jefferson Parish

Location: 979 Behrman Hwy, Terrytown, LA 70056

Reports To: Assistant Principal

Hiring Status: At-Will

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

FTE: 0.5, 20 hours / week

Schedule: Monday – Friday 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Reporting Days: 190, 10 months

Compensation: Hourly

Starting Pay: $13-$16 / hr., DOE;

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Education: High School

Experience: Education experience preferred

Background: Clear FBI background check

Language: Strong verbal and writing skills in English, Spanish fluency preferred

Job Duties

Aide

Supervises the orderly gathering and flow of students through the cafeteria during lunch service and/or during lunch recess.

Ensures behavior management of students during lunch service and/or during lunch recess.

Ensures student safety and well-being.

Communicates proper lunchroom or playground rules to students.

Communicates with teachers regarding student behavior challenges.

Builds meaningful relationships with students

Assists students in exhibiting the Athlos Performance Character traits and upholding the mission and vision of Athlos at all times.

School Culture

Communicates a deep belief that all students can learn, and belong, in the classroom.

Consistently implements school-wide management policies.

Creates a positive learning environment by following classroom rules, systems, and procedures.

Must be able to have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on computer and/or related office equipment.

Ability to handle potentially high stress conditions.
