Our client is looking for a Precision Machinist on a direct hire basis to join their growing team.

Responsibilities:

Jig bore

Understand capability and concept of jig boring.

Able to describe lubrication system and schedule.

Capable of properly cleaning and lubricating the machines.

Demonstrate ability to set-up and position work piece on machine using proper clamping methods.

Knowledge of proper cutting speeds and feeds for various types of tool steels when using the high speed steel drills or tool bits.

Demonstrate ability to sharpen drills using drill.

Drill, counterbore, bore, ream and countersink holes.

Demonstrate ability to properly use all measuring tools.

Capable of reading and positioning dial collars on Platen and Saddle screws to within .0001 inch on machine without the use of digital readout.

Demonstrate proper use of dial indicators for alignment and other measurements on the work piece.

Demonstrate capability to size for such things as: allowing grind stock, press fits, slip fits.

OD/ID Grind

Able to identify grading of grinding wheels and identify proper wheel to be used for a specific material to be ground.

Able to set-up Cincinnati Grinder for straight and grind steel work piece to print.

Demonstrate proper use of center-lap for lapping steel work piece.

Set-up Parker Grinder and grind steel shafts, etc. to print.

Proper selection of Diamond Wheel. Able to identify grading.

Demonstrate truing and dressing of bonded wheels.

Able to grind using centerless head on Cincinnati O.D. Grinder.

Able to perform basic set-up of Studer Grinder and grind carbide punches/pilots.

Able to set-up bore gauge.

Set up Dead-Tru centerless grinder and grind bushings and carbide blanks.

Set up Studer Grinder and grind pilots & punches to print.

Jig Grind

Understand capability and concept of jig grinding.

Able to describe lubrication system and schedule.

Able to properly set-up machine to include the following: power feed stops, setting the head stops, wheel length.

Capable of setting-up a part on the machine (straight and clamped down).

Able to tram part and indicate for location to the print.

Able to pick up edge.

Able to set and lock dials and slides.

Responsible for oiling and cleaning of the machine.

Demonstrate the use of checking gauges: bore micrometers, dial bore gauge, pin gauges.

Capable of checking holes for taper and out of round.

Chop grind radius.

Demonstrate ability to check “size” using a dial indicator.

Surface Grind

Demonstrate ability to grind flat, square, and parallel.

Capable of properly mounting a wheel on an adaptor and then on the spindle of the machine.

Ability to properly dress a wheel using a single point mounted diamond.

Understand proper wheel R.P.M. for a given wheel diameter.

Able to perform daily maintenance of surface grinders.

Capable of identifying abrasive wheels from manufacturers specifications.

Capable of truing a diamond grinding wheel on both sides and the periphery.

Ability to side grind.

Ability to hold a given size

Capable of working to a preformed hole

Demonstrate ability to utilize comparator for: checking a radius, checking an angle tangent to a radius, working to a sharp corner.

Sizing a radius.

Working an angle tangent to a radius.

Prototrak

Understand capability and concept of milling.

Able to describe lubrication system and schedule.

Capable of properly cleaning and lubricating the machines.

Demonstrate ability to set-up and position work piece on machine using proper clamping methods.

Knowledge of proper cutting speeds and feeds for various types of tool steels when using the high speed steel and carbide drills or tool bits.

Demonstrate ability to sharpen drills using drill sharpener.

Drill, counterbore, bore, ream and countersink holes, write conversational programs.

Demonstrate ability to properly use all measuring tools.

Demonstrate proper use of dial indicators for alignment and other measurements on the work piece.
