OCTO DC Netis looking for a Web Service Developer to support a team that maintains a telecommunication based Operational Support System.

Job Description:

The Web Services Developer responsibilities include being fluent in Agile Scrum work environments to include but not limited to: Maintain Java and Spring based webservices Meeting with Customers to discover problems and features Working with Customers to establish desired streamlined workflows for any new features maintaining User Stories, Defects relevant to your tasks and testing those which are not participating in daily stand up meetings participating in full life cycle Scrum deployments creation of own tasks as the sole Web Service developer on our team.

The Developer is required to be very knowledgeable in Java, Spring Boot Framework, Restful Web Services and Knowledge of MVC or MVVC and how they function.

The Developer is expected to create consistent working Web Services allowing for the best use of the solution being developed. This would include creation of creating skeleton mock ups, or working demos on short notice.

Developer is required to have fundamental knowledge of Relational Database Managements Systems, experience with Java Lambda expressions, Version Control frameworks, as well as strategies for Continuous Integration Development and Testing.

The Developer must have strong problem solving abilities and be able to work independently without hourly assistance from other members of the team when confronted with problems. This position requires the developer to research solutions outside their current scope of knowledge on a regular basis and to become fluent in those solutions fast enough to be able to use them correctly to solve issues experienced in development.

Responsibilities:

Coordinates IT project management, engineering, maintenance, QA, and risk management.

Plans, coordinates, and monitors project activities.

Develops technical applications to support users.

Develops, implements, maintains, and enforces documented standards and procedures for the design, development, installation, modification, and documentation of assigned systems.

Provides training for system products and procedures.

Performs application upgrades.

Performs monitoring, maintenance, or reporting on real time databases, real time network and serial data communications, and real time graphics and logic applications.

Troubleshoots problems.

Ensures project lifecycle is in compliance with District standards and procedures.

Required Skills:

Java Spring Boot Framework4 Years

Java Spring Framework : Security, MVC, JDBC, JPA 3 Years

Java Lambda Expressions, Collections, Streams 2Years

Version Control Systems (GIT) 3 Years

Java Test Frameworks (Junit) 2 Years

Relational DB System (ie MySQL, Postgres, etc) 2 Years

Java Logging Frameworks (e.g. Log4J) 1 Years

Experience with Cloud Computing Using AWS 2 Years

Continuous Integration Tools (e.g. Jenkins) 2 Years

Experience with Agile/Scrum environment 6 Years

6-10 yrs. planning, coordinating, and monitoring project activities 6 Years

6-10 yrs. leading projects, ensuring they are in compliance with established standards procedures 6 Years

Associates’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience

Desired Skills:

Mobile App Development 1 Years

Understanding of ReactJS, HTML5, CSS 1 Years

Highly Desired Skills:

Bachelors degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
