POSITION OVERVIEW

The Sr. Financial Analyst will be an integral member of the Corporate Controlling team reporting directly to the FP&A Manager – Logistics. The role will be responsible for a variety of regular and recurring accounting and analysis functions including month end close and reporting, as well as reporting and analysis of spend, productivity, and variances. The individual must possess strong analytical skills, enjoy a challenging work environment and the opportunity to exercise initiative, be self-motivated, and demonstrate an aptitude and skill to proactively find solutions. This position will be a valued business partner to the Supply Chain, Procurement and Commercial organizations.

TARGETED OUTCOMES

Become a highly engaged and effective business partner across the Finance, Logistics, Procurement and Commercial teams

Improve processes, controls and efficiency in month-end financial close and reporting

Lead and ensure successful completion of automation projects to reduce manual work

Partner with Logistics team on Network Design and Optimization, including improved cost visibility tools

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Month-end financial closing process, including accrual and reclassification entries, spend analysis, and reconciliations.

Proactive and timely cost analysis and variance reporting, as well as monthly preparation of packages for leadership teams

Support Supply Chain and Procurement teams in identifying and vetting productivity opportunities; facilitate productivity tracking; validate, analyze, and publish productivity results monthly

Calculate, analyze, and maintain customer CTS rates for both Logistics forecasting and Commercial margin analysis

Re-design work processes to achieve efficiencies and re-direct efforts to higher value work.

Other Ad Hoc tasks as called upon to perform.

TEAM

Reports to: FP&A Manager – Logistics

Team Members: Sr. Financial Analyst – Commercial Analysis, Sr. Financial Analyst – SGA&T, and Sr. Financial Analyst – Operations Analysis

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

BS/BA in accounting or finance required; will consider MBA with strong finance experience

5+ years of financial reporting and analysis experience

Chemical manufacture experience preferred

CPA or MBA a plus

Strong Excel skills (lookups, tables, pivot tables, etc); experience working with large datasets

Strong PowerPoint formatting skills

SAP experience strongly preferred; experience Celonis/BI platform experience a plus

REQUIRED SKILLS

Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Has an aptitude for systems and process optimization, with strong analytical and problem solving abilities.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments while maintaining attention to detail.

Ability to work and communicate with a diverse group of people across multiple organizational levels, and interact with both internal and external stakeholders including customers and vendors

Excellent oral, written, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills

Ability to conceptualize and assimilate data, translate complex concepts into simplified terms, and present proposals in a clear and concise manner.

Adapts effectively to new and changing environments; is self-driven, self-directed and is able to work in a fast-paced environment.
