We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to help us tackle complex data analytics projects from end to end in Microsoft Azure.

Your role:

As Data Engineer you will work hands-on in our Azure platform and play an important role. You will look to perform a variety of tasks that will ensure that the data community have the data used in our everyday decision making through the delivery of final state ‘data products’ within a governed manner.

In your role as Data Engineer, you will build relationships within the business and developer community and deploy data pipelines in a governed manner, ensuring that outputs meet key business objectives. Truly showcasing the value of data.

Your role will also include:

Data Delivery: be responsible for delivery of complex data solutions including the ingest of data from a wide variety of data sources into our analytics platforms (typically cloud-based but also on-premises), transformation and cleansing data.

Drive a data-first culture both within the data team and across the business, developing others around you.

You will work alongside a team including other data engineers, data scientists and data visualisation specialists.

Who are you?

To be successful in this role you need in depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure Cloud services, including Data Lake, ADF, Synapse, DevOps, and Databricks.

You have a comprehensive professional experience working with data modelling, dimensional modelling, and back-end development. With the proven ability to navigate in complex organizational structures and with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

You have a university degree (Bachelors or Masters) in relevant field and Azure Data Engineer certification acts as a plus.Since our company language is English you are fluent in English orally and in writing.

You are also:

Comfortable communicating and building relationships with stakeholders at all levels. The ability to ‘grasp the ask’ is key.

Experienced working in an Agile delivery environment, ideally using Scrum and\or Kanban.

Strong understanding of SQL and be comfortable reading and writing complex SQL queries ideally across multiple platforms. Knowledge of Python would be beneficial.

Demonstrable experience working with data from a wide variety of data sources including different database platforms, flat files, API’s, and event-driven data feeds.

Competent at building complex data transformations. near real-time or event-driven data would be an advantage.

Other key technical skills:

Working knowledge and application of Key Data Modelling principles (i.e. Kimball, Inmon)

3+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, or equivalent, preferably with a consultant background.

Proficient understanding of SQL Server and T-SQL language.

Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining ETL flows and automated data extraction.

Demonstrated ability to develop maintainable and efficient code.

Familiarity and competence in working within CI/CD environments.

Hands-on experience with GIT and a commitment to best coding practices.

Experience in developing on-premises solutions with the Microsoft SQL stack (SSIS, SSRS).

We have a hybrid work model at Lowell, but you need to be based in Gothenburg/Sweden, Turku/Finland or Oslo/Norway today, as we don't offer relocation. You also need to have willingness to do some travel between our sites when, projects so require.
