We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our innovative and highly sought-after Finance Team. Please note this is a 12-month contract position.

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for maintaining current accounts and performing invoicing functions. This individual is also responsible for analysing expense reports for compliance with company policy, work with vendors to resolve past due invoices and reconcile monthly statements.

Here you’ll be able to:

Receive and match invoices to purchase orders and receiving reports and forward for appropriate approval

Review and code employee Travel & Entertainment (T&E) expenses

Process weekly (and occasional off-cycle) payment runs

Communicate with and respond to vendors concerning payables issues (i.e. payment status; disputes; etc.)

Reconcile vendor statements and address all past due items

Work with the finance team to ensure that the month-end close process is completed in a timely manner

Ensure timely and accurate processing and troubleshooting of invoices

Maintain proper storage of invoices, checks, and other documents

Build, update and distribute T&E dashboard and Marketing Spends Dashboard to business partners

Backup other team members when they are absent, as necessary

Other duties as assigned

It would be music to our ears if you had:

Basic accounting knowledge, supported by a University degree or College diploma

Minimum 2 years accounts payable experience

Ability to understand and apply rules for various Canadian taxes

Experience using SAP/Oracle or large ERP in similar role

Strong computer skills, with a good knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word

You enjoy working with others and are happy to assist people when they need help

Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

Effective time management and organizational skills for a fast paced environment
