About the role:

We’re seeking a Maintenance Technician to focus on the maintenance of both Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) Equipment.

You’ll join an innovative team, who participates in corrective and preventative maintenance, installations, troubleshooting and replacement of equipment in the field.

Day-to-day, you will:

Collaborate with a team of technicians and electricians responsible for the operation of US tolling asset’s roadside systems.

Perform corrective maintenance by identifying, isolating, and repairing equipment faults.

Inspect, analyse, and troubleshoot systems and equipment for ongoing maintenance.

Help maintain auditable and accurate maintenance records for regular reporting on system performance and identifying incident trends.

Support Transurban Traffic Control Room operations as needed.

Liaise with other groups to identify and rectify ETC system problems, enhance system performance and recommend system improvements.

Assist in maintaining procedures for all activities to ensure a safe working environment.

The following transportation and physical requirements are needed to meet the responsibilities of the role:

Must have reliable transportation and live within 45-minutes of the project to meet mean time to repair (MTTR) key performance indicators (KPIs) for response times while on-call.

Ability and willingness to work at high elevations, outdoors, and in harsh weather.

Ability to operate an aerial lift, scissor lift and/or bucket truck.

Routinely lifts, carries and moves materials weighing 50+ pounds.

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferable skills and experiences, including:

Journeyman Electrician License, valid in the state of Virginia, coupled with a strong knowledge and experience in electricity and electrical work.

An understanding of low voltage Alternating Current and Direct Current (AC/DC).

Adaptability to handle the challenges of a varied role in a dynamic organization.

An analytical mind and strong problem-solver who is self-motivated and organized.

Good communication skills (written & oral) with the ability to deal effectively with personnel at all levels.

Ability to contribute to short, medium, and long-term planning and effectively promote ideas.

Basic understanding of troubleshooting and maintenance concepts.
