Hexcel is currently seeking a Materials Manager for our Duxford, UK location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

Ensure the site supply chain is managed in line with the businesses EHS policies and environmental protection procedures.

Provide effective leadership and direction to the site Supply Chain team thereby ensuring the Organization consistently delivers efficient and timely supply chain solutions and services.

Responsible for the site Master Production Plan responsible to the Plant Manager and in collaboration with the European Supply Chain Manager.

Ensures the Supply Planning team delivers robust detailed production schedules that are risk assessed and that optimal levels of customer service are achieved whilst considering utilization and efficiency targets within the plants (COGS).

Under the general guidance of the European Supply Chain Manager, develops appropriate replenishment strategies, targets and procedures for achieving agreed inventory levels for raw materials, intermediates and finished goods.

Works effectively within the manufacturing operation to maximize customer service levels and on time delivery of customer orders.

Collaborates with plant management on new initiatives for achieving maximum through-put, quality and efficiency.

Leads the implementation of local supply chain improvement initiatives.

In collaboration with European Sourcing, manage the supplier base to ensure consistent and reliable supply of all materials used in production and/or site activities.

Proactively build on existing talent within the Supply Chain function and put development plans in place working with the Regional/ Global teams and ensure key talent is developed across locations/businesses.

Qualifications:

University Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain management, business administration, operations management, engineering, or a related field.

Extensive supply chain experience gained from a senior operational role within a vertically integrated, multi-national Organization.

CPIM and/or CSCP certification from the Association for Operations Management (APICS) is highly preferred.

Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills within a multi-cultural environment is essential.

Experience in motivating and interfacing at site, regional, global, and corporate levels, preferably within a matrix reporting environment.

Demonstrated ability to lead improvement programs within a manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated knowledge of raw material planning/ procurement, scheduling and or inventory controls systems.

AX2012 systems knowledge will be an advantage.

Willing and able to travel outside of the UK 10 – 15% of the time.
