Senior Software Engineer (Java)

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work on a project in the banking sector.

You will be part of a distributed team developing new technologies to solve real business problems offering different products such as wealth management, capital markets, and real estate.

We are looking for someone with good communication skills, ideally with experience making decisions, being proactive, used to building software from scratch, and with good attention to detail.

What you will do: - Work in close coordination with the client’s business users, vendors, and other stakeholders to craft solutions to business problems considering functional and non-functional requirements.

- Create technical documentation such as design documents, guidelines, and standards.

- Actively review and contribute to the creation of department standards and guidelines.

- Take a lead role in the design and implementation of new components and functionality.

- Project management of key tasks and initiatives providing timely status and project updates to key stakeholders.

- Liaise with the test team and all project stakeholders to ensure solutions are fully tested.

- Creation and execution of automated test scripts wherever possible.

- Evaluate new technologies & 3rd party solutions.

- Liaise with new & existing vendors to develop integrations with 3rd party solutions.

- Design and develop technical solutions which are robust, secure, and easily maintainable, in line with development standards and best practices.

- Provide technical direction & leadership to more junior team members.

Act as a mentor to junior members of the team.

What you will bring: - 7+ years Java/J2EE and related technologies.

- Strong knowledge of Spring technologies (MVC, Spring Boot, Batch, and Integration). - Experience in designing technical systems based on business requirements.

- Experienced in developing microservices.

- Experienced in the HTTP protocols for REST API.

- Experienced in coding for web application security.

- Experience in SQL & RDBMS development (Oracle, MySQL). - Experience in source control (Git) and use of IDEs.

- Working knowledge of Linux.

- Working knowledge of web analytics & best practices for integrating into online applications.

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in cross-functional project teams.

- Experience working with Agile methodologies.

Nice to have: - Experience developing SPA applications is highly desirable.

- Experience in front-end frameworks is desirable i.e.

AngularJS, Angular2+. - Experience in the DevOps framework i.e.

Jenkins, Ansible, etc.

- Experience in providing web solutions to financial services organizations.

- Demonstrated experience translating high-level solutions into functional specifications and formal business requirements.
