SUMMARY:

The Project Manager II (PM II) will be responsible for managing all phases of projects from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring & controlling, and closure. He or she will report to the Program Manager or Program Director. This is a mid-level position that can eventually lead to a Program Manager position. The PM II of the marine production program is typically responsible for managing the entire build and delivery of a marine watercraft / vessel including all required deliverable documentation. Associated revenue for a production build typically ranges from $50M to $100M.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's of Science in a technical discipline or a minimum of 5 yearsâ experience in fabrication, construction, custom manufacturing, or similar industries is required.

Minimum 5 yearsâ experience in a Project Manager role required.

Experience in the Marine Fabrication industry is preferred.

Experience in a fabrication or construction environment, preferably job-shop or general contract companies.

Strong fabrication or construction background/builder-mentality

Strong technical skills/aptitude

Understanding and actual experience using Earned Value Management.

Team mentality, anticipating the needs of other Program Team members and Senior Management

PREFERRED:

Earned Value Management experience preferred.

Shipbuilding or Maritime supply base experienced preferred.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred. If not already certified, candidate will be expected to obtain certification within a reasonable timeframe after commencing work.
