ITW Specialty Films, a global division of ITW within the Specialty Segment, manufactures and markets specialized coated films for the Secure ID, Medical Specialty Bag, and Financial Card markets. The division leverages unique core competencies and technologies in films, foils, laminates, and holography to address customer needs. The division operates in 5 manufacturing facilities (US, UK, and Germany), and offers a fun, fast-paced work environment with a dynamic, collaborative, growth-oriented team.Job Description

The Operations Manager for our Cranbury, NJ plant is a key member of our management team who is responsible for all safe manufacturing activities, continuous improvement, and strategy for the facility. The role directly manages the cell leadership, facility manager, customer service, and project design manager. The Operations Manager will lead the manufacturing teams to ensure timely delivery of products meeting the customer’s requirements, in quantities that meet sales demand and ensure lowest cost, profitability and growth consistent with ITW objectives. They will both define and deliver plans to improve all aspects of plant performance in line with the ITW Business Model and Financial expectations, in addition to providing strong leadership to the business in-line with ITW’s culture and core values. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Safe manufacturing of quality products utilizing the ITW Business Model

Health and Safety

Execute the Safety Management System and drive a proactive safety culture to achieve / sustain zero incidents

Lead by example and inspire the team in establishing a safety-first culture.

Ensure that those persons under their control are competent and have sufficient information instruction, training and resources

Create a culture of reporting accidents, near misses, investigating incidents, identifying hazards and implementing control measures to prevent occurrences.

Gain an expertise on the ITW Business Model and drive business results through utilization of the tools through empowerment of others.

Enables growth through market leading customer facing metrics

Leads from a local Divisional perspective and influences peers around the 80/20 business model

Drive continuous improvement through utilization of the ITW Business Model

Plans and executes against short / long term priorities concurrently

Optimizes plant performance to support the business’ core customer-centric value propositions of quality and lead time

Ensure inventory of stock is maintained in accordance with ITW policies, stock accuracy, MOH and grading concerns.

Is highly knowledgeable about the manufacturing process, local, state, regional and national regulatory climate (EHS) and division operational metrics

Assures organic growth is supported via owning local capacity planning/utilization for the “80” based on the ITW Business Model

Proactively supporting customer back innovation programs & NPI

Oversees resource allocation for local sourcing & supply chain, maintenance, shipping & receiving etc. and strives to lessen complexity

Conducts external scan to identify new technology, trends and obsolescence threats and develops strategies to advance competitiveness

Designs the supply chain to support strategic customer-facing metrics

Consistently Delivers on commitments

Actively monitors plant performance, maintaining business metrics to drive focus and for improvement

Tracks differentiated customer focused metrics and delivers World Class – industry leading results

Instill a culture of continuous improvement using all available resources with attention to employee involvement

Successfully identify and develop talent for leadership pipelineQualifications

Position Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related manufacturing or management discipline, such as mechanical, chemical, industrial engineering or business management

5-7 year’s work experience in manufacturing, 2-3 year's leadership role is preferred

Experience with coating, ink MFG and hazardous chemicals is preferred

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Accurate and precise attention to detail

Ability to perform mathematical calculations to assess capacity, volume trends and future state needs

Excellent problem-solving skills with focus on continuous improvement techniques.

Travel < 10%, some international may be required
