Diesel / GSE / Mechanic

MUST PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK / DRUG SCREEN / VALID DRIVERS LICENSE

Pay:$40.00-$43.00/hr

Shift: 3rd Shift

JOB QUALIFIERS:

Perform mechanical maintenance and repair of ground support equipment and facilities.

Repair a wide range of equipment including Ford trucks and Vans, Small gas engines, Turbine engines, large (110k lb.) diesel powered tow tractors, electric tractors etc. Executes complex maintenance assignments involving but not limited to automotive, electrical, systems and other related trade skill sets.

Experienced with both gas and diesel equipment.

Skilled Mechanic to assemble, maintain and repair machinery and vehicles.

They must be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions.

Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous work experience in an airport environment.

Strong hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting experience.

State and/or ASE certification in automotive and diesel repair or associated field.

3+ years experience as a heavy, medium or light duty mechanic.

1 year experience working in a CMMS.

Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures related to equipment repair.

Tools Required:

They must have their own tools, such as all grades mechanical tools like wrenches, Pliers, screw drivers, socket set, hammer and precision measurement tools like calipers, Vernier etc.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This is a physically demanding position which requires on-the-job security training and the ability to receive all applicable airport security badges.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works in all areas located on Airport property. May be around dust, dirt, moving machinery, temperature changes, heights and noise levels below OSHA minimum requirements. Use of PPE is required.
