Buyer

Our Rhode Island based client is looking for a Buyer with 3+ years' experience; this role is onsite Monday-Friday and 40 hours per week. At least 2+ years of buying experience for jewelry, fashion or accessories.

Responsibilities

Drive merchandising strategy and assortment plans for merchandise category and channel.

Think creatively on packaging and presentation

Research trends, trend spotting, and interpret trends based on how they relate to the customer.

Work across multiple departments to ensure calendar is on schedule and projects and goods are arriving on time.

Participate in review meetings, including edits, board review, pre-costing, line reviews, adoption and post-market review.

Be the client/customer face for vendors, customers, suppliers, and licensors

Work with Account and Sales to style the showroom

Attend industry events and tradeshows as need

Qualifications

Proficient experience and understanding of costume jewelry merchandising, fashion and design. Identifying trends and interpreting them based on client needs

Ability to identify voids in customer assortments and identifying white space.

Entrepreneurial drive tempered by judgment and strong leadership skills

Superior organizational and communication skills

Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented and meticulous

Previous experience in costume jewelry, accessories and/or hair goods merchandising or buying; relevant experience in categories

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office

Able to travel
