Cancer Registrar - WCMC Cancer Program - Full Time - 8 Hour - Days
Description:
The Cancer Registrar identifies cancer cases potentially reportable to the California Cancer Registry (CCR) through review of pathology reports for surgical specimens or through review of medical record indices cases with a primary or secondary diagnosis of cancer. Using specialized cancer registry database software, data for all reportable cases are extracted from the patient's medical records, radiation oncology records, or other data sources within the JMH network, entered into the Cancer Registry database, and then electronically transmitted to the California Cancer Registry.

1 year Healthcare - Cancer Registered Facility
Care Coordination - Case Management

Certifications/Licensures:
CTR - Certified Tumor Registrar
Skills:
Excellent knowledge of current cancer reporting standards and data requirements for all standard-setting organizations—Commission on Cancer (CoC), California Cancer Registry (CCR), Survival, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program, the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR).
Thorough understanding of abstracting and coding of cancer data.
Proficient with CNExT Cancer Registry software; or transferrable experience with other cancer registry software applications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point).
Work Shift:08.0 - 08:00 - 16:30 No Waive (United States of America)
Pay Range:$40.72 - $54.97

Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
