What You’ll Do

In this role you will engage with all aspects of Union Heritage including, but not limited to, attending meetings with founders and LPs, managing follow-ups, executing internal special projects, partner branding/marketing, and working with our community of founders. Our ideal candidate is extremely organized and detail oriented, adept at prioritizing and multitasking, takes initiative, and constantly thinks one step ahead. Please note: This is not an investing role.

Ideal Background: Our ideal candidate will have at least three years of professional experience, be based in Detroit, and be available to start immediately. The role is a unique opportunity that can be a good fit for a variety of professional backgrounds. A few examples include an operations manager or project manager who has worked in a fast-paced environment and has prior experience managing multiple work streams, or a business generalist with prior experience working within corporate, banking, or consulting with a passion for technology / venture capital.

Responsibilities will include:

Managing scheduling and the administrative calendar for the firm’s Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer

Attending meetings and events with the GPs and following up on all action items

Providing GPs with relevant briefing information on a consistent basis

Anticipating project obstacles and drafting solutions to create additional bandwidth for senior team

Providing insights and recommendations to support the founding partner with key business decisions

Conducting research and analysis on industry trends to help the founding partner identify potential investment opportunities

Identifying areas that need immediate attention and ensuring they are prioritized by the partners

Operationalizing the teams processes around investment pipelines and deal tracking

Work with Platform Director to manage special projects and brand/marketing initiatives including social media, story telling, founder support

Help team support relationships with portfolio companies by maintaining communication channels

5-7 hours per week of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable for vendors. Manage internal flow of information to bookkeeper

Requirements

3+ years of work experience

Work from our office in Detroit 3 days/week, and remotely 2 days/week

Action oriented and able to make decisions without micro management

Willingness to perform a variety of roles and to collaborate successfully on a lean team

Strong time management and organizational skills; possesses detail-orientation

High intellectual curiosity, personal gravitas, and galvanizing energy

Unmatched integrity and discretion in handling confidential information

Benefits

$80,000 - $110,000 a year (compensation will vary based on experience)
