Maintenance Team Lead

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager to join a thriving, family-owned manufacturing company in Waterbury, CT and manage the maintenance team.

The role is hands on and perfect for someone who likes to work with their team on the shop floor rather than be at a desk for most of the day.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

With the Plant Manager plans, schedules and directs all maintenance activities.

Maintains all buildings and facilities.

Maintains all production machinery.

Assigns, directs and controls all repairs, maintenance and routine and special projects being performed by maintenance personnel.

Determines preventive maintenance requirements.

With the Plant Manager prepares a plant preventive maintenance program.

Conducts a production machinery preventive maintenance program, including machine oiling.

With the Plant Manager designs and lays out maintenance projects.

Conducts special projects under the direction of the Plant Manager.

Contacts contractors for contract repair operations.

Determines spare parts requirements.

Contacts vendors for technical information and prices for maintenance and special project items.

Operates machine tools to fabricate maintenance items.

Prepares rigging for maintenance operations and movement of customer product.

Ensures plant safety, including machinery, machine guards, and fire protection.

Ensures that employees under direct supervision re adhering to established safety policies and procedures or otherwise are performing their various assignments in a safe manner.

Checks time cards.

Resolves employee problems.

Trains employees in maintenance operations and in preventive maintenance techniques.

Evaluates employees in the performance of their duties.

Performs any additional duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Plant Manager.
