School Bus Driver

We are seeking responsible and reliable individuals to join our team as School Bus Drivers.

The School Bus Driver will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and ensuring their safety during transit.

The ideal candidate should have a valid drivers license, a clean driving record, and a commitment to providing a safe and comfortable experience for students.

Key Responsibilities: Operate a school bus and transport students to and from school, following a predetermined route and schedule.

Ensure the safety and well-being of students during transit, including adherence to traffic laws and safety regulations.

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the school bus to ensure it is in good working condition.

Maintain order and discipline among students while on the bus, enforcing safety rules and behavior standards.

Assist students with boarding and disembarking from the bus, including helping younger students with seat belts and securing wheelchairs if necessary.

Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students to address any concerns or issues related to transportation.

Keep accurate records of daily mileage, fuel consumption, and passenger counts.

Follow emergency procedures in the event of an accident, breakdown, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Attend training sessions and meetings as required by the transportation department.

Perform other duties as assigned by the transportation supervisor or school administration.

Qualifications: Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.

Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with passenger (P) and school bus (S) endorsements preferred but not required (training may be provided) Previous experience as a bus driver or in a related field preferred but not required.

Good driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to remain calm and patient in stressful situations.

Physical stamina and the ability to sit for extended periods and lift/move objects up to 50 pounds.

Flexibility to work a split shift and varying hours, including early mornings and late afternoons.
