GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Training Specialist is primarily responsible for the coordination and facilitation of training initiatives as well as the onboarding of new employees at the facility level. Additional responsibilities include implementation of corporate wide training programs. The HR Training Specialist also assists with the development of corporate training programs, and the recruitment and evaluation of employees.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Supervise the training of all facility employees
Possess competence in Microsoft Windows suite
Assist with new hire integration activities
Responsible for facilitation of new hire onboarding
Assist in the coordination of recruiting efforts for the facility
Coordinate employee evaluation processes
Attend community related events/job fairs
Liaison to institutions for higher education
At the direction of the Corporate Training and Development Manager, assist in the development and execution of training initiatives
Partner with corporate training and development in administration of the Learning Management System (LMS)
Support company wide and plant specific technical and safety related training
Produce program reports
Develop and implement training curriculum needs assessments consistent with corporate guidelines
Consult with facility leaders to understand employee skill gaps and research learning solutions
Meet with employees to discuss development opportunities
Partner with plant functional teams
Facilitate training sessions
Occasionally travel to other facilities
Pursue improvement and labor-saving opportunities
Must be flexible and able to work five days, with an occasional six day work week
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
BA/BS degree in related discipline or 2+ years of commensurate experience.
Must possess a high level of critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills.
Ability to public speak and conduct small to medium sized group trainings in a 1 on 1 or classroom setting.
Strong written communication and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work on a cross functional team with players from several different departments all at the same time
A drive to motivate team members and lead team building activities.
Must be able to give and accept constructive criticism.
