Position Summary:
Alliance Resource Group is working with a San Clemente-based business/family office that handles the accounting for an entrepreneur/investor and his closely-held businesses.
This organization manages the books and financial records of the owners/shareholders with upmost confidentiality and professionalism. This role handles bookkeeping, processing day-to-day transactions, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting to the owners.
This opportunity would be ideal for someone who has worked for a small CPA firm, business management firm, or family office that handles full-cycle accounting, but our client would also consider someone with excellent accounting knowledge from other industries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilize Quickbooks to book journal entries and reconcile monthly bank/credit card statements
Create monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L statements, balance sheets, and budgets/forecasts for reporting to owners
Create ad-hoc reports relating to daily stock performance and portfolio maintenance
Record trades/investment activity and produce daily/monthly/quarterly reports
Utilize Yahoo Finance and other market visibility tools to update watch list
Process, record, and analyze expenses, booking appropriate journal entries as needed
Ensure that journal entries, postings, documents, and reports are GAAP compliant, mathematically/numerically accurate, and properly coded
Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions, bookings, and reports
Maintain detailed documentation for internal/external audits, tax filings, and compliance purposes
Follow companyâ s established accounting processes while contributing to process improvements and enhancements under GAAP
Qualifications:
Experience utilizing QuickBooks for GL accounting, expense processing, and financial reporting
Strong understanding and knowledge of US GAAP
Strong knowledge of Excel, including tools/formulas needed for reporting/analyses
Customer service oriented with a team-player mentality â no task is too small
Strong financial and accounting acumen in order to explain finances, transactions, and reports to co-workers, management, and owners
Able to multi-task and prioritize within a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment
Literacy within the financial statements and the ability to do accounting research/synthesize findings
Applicant must be comfortable working with/around dogs since the office is dog friendly
Education Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business, or related. An Associates degree with excellent related experience will also be considered.
4-5+ years experience in accounting or related field
