We are searching for a skilled Sheet Metal Fabrication Estimator to play a vital role in our success. In this position, you will be responsible for analyzing project requirements, preparing competitive bids, and ensuring project profitability for an AS9100 contract manufacturer. You will work closely with various teams to ensure accurate estimates and project feasibility.

Responsibilities:

Analyze customer Requests for Quotes (RFQs), blueprints, and specifications to determine project scope and material needs.

Conduct takeoffs to accurately calculate material quantities, including sheet metal, fasteners, and finishes.

Estimate labor costs based on project complexity, desired turnaround time, and required resources.

Research and incorporate vendor pricing and lead times into the overall project cost.

Prepare detailed and competitive quotes that meet customer requirements and company profit margins.

Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure clear communication and project understanding.

Stay up-to-date on industry trends, material pricing, and fabrication techniques to optimize estimating processes.

Maintain accurate records of quotes, estimates, and project data.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication or a related field.

Ability to prepare accurate and competitive bids.

Strong understanding of sheet metal materials, gauges, and fabrication processes.

Excellent knowledge of drawings and specifications. AS9100 experience is a plus.

Proficiency in estimating software (a plus).

Experience with quoting and proposal writing is preferred.

Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
