Project Accountant

Job Description

Group Delta is looking for a self-motivated and energetic Project Accountant to join the team in Irvine with commuting responsibilities to other offices. If you are gritty, passionate and intrepid, we may have the perfect career opportunity for you!

What you’ll be doing:

· Setup new projects and billing terms in accounting system per contract and per information provided by Project Manager

· Ensure all projects have fully executed contracts and comply with contract and billing terms

· Weekly timesheet, daily field report, and expense review in accounting system

· Prepare monthly invoices per contract and send them out to client. Review documentation to ensure invoicing is accurate and complies with contract terms to meet Client’s expectations, including providing additional reports and/or utilizing special billing templates

· Perform project analysis and prepare reports as needed for Project Managers and CFO

· Proactively monitor project performance and address any concerns with Project Managers

· Monitor projects for contract and labor compliance (i.e. change orders, certified payroll, etc.), including sub-contractor compliance

· Follow up with clients regarding collections and billing disputes

· Complete certified payrolls for prevailing wage projects, including submission to DIR, LCP Tracker, and monthly CAC training fund contributions

· Compile and prepare subcontractor package for setup; complete set up in accounting system

· Track and monitor subcontractor accounts payable to ensure contract and labor compliance

· Track preliminary notices, conditional waivers, certificates of insurance, etc.

· Complete miscellaneous client paperwork such as onboarding forms, badging, and attend client workshops for project compliance as needed

· Proposal review and approval in accounting system

· Ensure all incurred cost is reflected accurately and in a timely fashion on the project

· Special projects and other administrative duties as assigned

What to bring:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/ Finance or minimum of 4 years of experience project accounting field

· Experience in billing is a must

· Experience with prevailing wage, union, and certified payroll is a must

· Experience in engineering, construction or architectural industry preferred

· Experience with Deltek Vision Software a plus

· Must be willing to travel between Irvine and other offices as needed

· Good knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office

· Available and willing to work overtime as needed
