Software Engineer II

Founded in September 2020, Asia Digital Engineering (ADE) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AirAsia Group based in KLIA2, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. ADE leverages the AirAsia Group Engineering Department’s best practices and unsurpassed combined experience in the region. ADE offers a range of aircraft services focused on the Airbus A320, A321 & A330 for line maintenance services, component and warehouse services, and engineering support services.

Software Engineers at ADE work within our digital product development team to build innovative, secure and scalable digital solutions that are integrated with our large scale internal and external systems. We believe in the continuous pursuit of making things better and building a team passionate about learning and sharing knowledge.

YOUR ROLE AS A SOFTWARE ENGINEER II:

For this role you will be Understanding business requirements holistically to build mobile and web applications.

Identifying, prioritizing, and completing tasks across the software development life cycle.

Crafting code that's not just functional but also easy to understand and maintain.

Swiftly troubleshooting issues, refining code, and streamlining repetitive tasks through automation.

Upholding principles of security, performance, and scalability in all your contributions.

Collaborating closely with the Product Quality team to enhance our automated testing capabilities.

Actively sharing insights and documenting knowledge as part of your daily routine.

Exploring new technologies and assessing how they can benefit the team.

Conducting market research to understand competitors and refine our development strategies accordingly.

WHO YOU ARE:

Has a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field.

3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in front-end and/or back-end development, with proficiency in JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.

Comfortable working with popular frameworks like ReactJS and NodeJS.

Familiarity with professional software engineering practices and methodologies, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, version control, build processes, testing, and deployment.

Experience in developing mobile-first applications with a focus on responsive UI/UX design.

Proficiency in working with RESTful APIs and WebSockets.

Familiarity with application logging, monitoring, and performance management tools such as Firebase App Analytics and Bugsnag.

Experience using CI/CD tools like GitLab, GitHub, and Jenkins.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with excellent communication skills.
