Overview: The Private Client Business Development role is an ideal opportunity for a highly motivated professional with a passion for creating new business and converting opportunities to join a growing and respected Private Client practice at a well-established and federally registered investment advisor managing individually managed accounts and mutual funds. As a member of the Private Client team, the Private Client Business Development Advisor will be responsible for identifying and cultivating relationships with prospective clients on behalf of the firm to arrange introductory calls and face to face meetings with members of the Private Client team. This individual will have a broad understanding of wealth management practices and investment strategies and will be comfortable articulating the company's Private Client services and investment offerings. Sourcing new leads for the Private Client team will be critical to success in this role. This individual will also be responsible for building and managing long-term relationships with referral sources. A strong team player and communicator, the Private Client Business Development Advisor will partner actively across the company's internal platform to deliver an outstanding prospective client experience and represent the firm in a professional manner and maintain a high level of product and portfolio knowledge.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Identify and develop relationships with prospective clients to drive AUM growth.

Build and maintain relationships with accountants, estate planning attorneys, professional fiduciaries, and other centers of influence for purposes of obtaining referrals.

Effectively articulate the firm's investment strategies, philosophy, and macroeconomic views.

Ability to discuss firm's wealth management services and best practices.

Maintain a deep level of understanding of the investment management industry, our strategies and portfolios.

Contribute to the preparation of investment management proposals.

Respond promptly to information requests.

Actively update and maintain CRM database of prospects, referral sources and centers of influence.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree

Advanced degree (i.e. MBA, JD, etc.) or professional designation (i.e. CFA, CFP) preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum ten years in investment management sales.

Proven track record of sales success.

Consultative sales approach with depth in investment strategies and macroeconomic themes.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

A highly motivated and driven team player with a high level of professionalism; flexible and with a positive attitude.

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Must have strong integrity and the ability to build trust with prospects as well as internal and external partners.

Strong understanding of capital markets, asset allocation, and investment planning.

Comfortable discussing financial markets, portfolio construction and risk.

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and CRM (Salesforce) experience.
