Survey Crew Chief

Company Overview: My client is a leading Surveying firm specializing in Surveying. As they continue to expand their operations, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Survey Crew Chief to join thier dynamic team.

Position Overview: The Survey Crew Chief will be responsible for leading a team of survey technicians in conducting various field surveys. This role requires a meticulous attention to detail, strong leadership skills, and proficiency in surveying techniques and equipment operation. The Survey Crew Chief will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our surveying projects while adhering to safety protocols and project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of survey technicians

Conduct boundary, topographic, and construction surveys using advanced surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS receivers, and digital levels.

Interpret survey data and prepare accurate field notes, sketches, and reports.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met effectively and efficiently.

Provide mentorship and training to junior survey staff to facilitate their professional development.

Assist in the preparation of project proposals, estimates, and budgets as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in surveying, civil engineering, or related field preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief or similar role in the surveying industry.

Proficiency in operating and maintaining surveying equipment including total stations, GPS receivers, and digital levels.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members and clients.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant surveying software.

Familiarity with surveying regulations, standards, and best practices.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
