Responsibilities

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

ADP Expertise: Proficiency in using ADP software. This includes familiarity with ADP Workforce Now or other ADP platforms used for payroll processing.

Payroll Processing Knowledge: Experience in payroll processing is essential. This includes understanding payroll cycles, tax regulations, deductions, and compliance requirements.

Tax and Legal Compliance: A strong understanding of tax laws and employment regulations, ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliance with local, state, and federal laws.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail is critical to ensure accuracy and avoid errors.

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze payroll data, identify discrepancies, and troubleshoot issues is essential for a Payroll Specialist role.

Communication Skills: Effective communication is key for interacting with colleagues, managers, and employees regarding payroll-related inquiries, discrepancies, and issues.

Time Management: Strong time management skills are necessary to prioritize tasks and meet payroll deadlines accurately.

Confidentiality: Handling confidential employee information is a significant aspect of payroll processing.

Customer Service Orientation: Providing support and assistance to employees with payroll-related queries or concerns requires a customer-focused approach.

Continuous Learning: Payroll regulations and software features may change over time. A willingness to stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and ADP system updates is beneficial.

Problem-Solving Abilities: Being able to analyze problems and find effective solutions is essential for this role.

Teamwork/People Skills: Collaborating with HR, Accounting, and other departments may be necessary for resolving payroll issues or implementing changes.

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

5-7 years of experience in payroll processing, working with complex, multi-state payroll

Advanced skills working with MS Suite and MS Excel

Work under pressure

Fast paced office environment

Experience working with a team

Fully bilingual (English-Spanish)
