DCS Operator

Job Summary:

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Plant process equipment, monitor process parameters through DCS universal stations and coordinate with field operators regarding plant status.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Operate continuously plant process and utility equipment through DCS universal stations.1. Evaluate and analyze plant operating parameters connected to DCS, specially identified critical control points (CCP) and Operation Pre-Requisites Program (OPRP) and coordinate to plant supervisor and process engineer of out-of-range parameters and execute required control strategies indicated in item #3.

2. Operate the control strategies implemented in the DCS; adjust the output and set point of the controllers; and manually override the controller functions as required by the plant supervisor or standard operating procedures.

3. Maintain a deep understanding of Critical Control Points (CCP) and Operational Prerequisite Programs (OPRP) to ensure compliance with safety standards and adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, taking appropriate actions in case of deviations.

4. Inform the plant supervisor of any operation where a higher access level in the DCS is required.

5. Respond to systems alarms; perform corrective action for the alarm; and inform the DCS engineer of the alarms that cannot be readily corrected.

6. Coordinate with the field operators to check for proper functioning of control instruments.

7. Assist the instrumentations group on maintenance works such as instrument calibration and loop function check.

8. Coordinate with the DCS Engineer regarding the tuning of the controllers.

9. Continuously analyze existing methods and procedures and recommend changes for possible process improvement.

10. Act swiftly and efficiently during emergency situations, following established protocols to mitigate risks and minimize damage.

11. Responsible for actively participating in Food Safety Management System, promptly reporting any violations or concerns related to food safety and ensuring compliance with established procedures.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Education

: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering course is preferred.

Experience

: Work experience is not required, but willing to undergo training.

Other Attributes

: Male or female, in good health condition and can work on shifting schedules. Willing to be assigned in Brgy. Osmena, Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte; and can start immediately.
