DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist veterinarians and vet technicians with lab work.
Comfort and restrain pets during examinations and care.
Care for inpatient animals, including cage cleaning, exercising, observation for signs of illness, laundry, and keeping animals clean.
Feed inpatient pets and monitor whether they're eating.
Release animals to their owners as directed by the Vet or technician. Ensure that every animal released is clean and looking better than on arrival.
Receive pets to be admitted for confinement as directed by the Vet or technician. Ensure that each pet has proper identification cage cards and medical record in the appropriate place.
Clean, sterilize, and maintain kennels, operating rooms, examining rooms, cages, and surgical equipment.
Observe animal behavior or health condition and report to the Vet.
Do routine laboratory tests, such as taking x-rays.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least College level.
Preferably with proven experience as a Veterinary Assistant or similar position working with animals.
Patient and caring personality
Ability to follow instructions properly
Comfortable being around animals
Fast learner and willing to be trained
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
