Director Production Services, Studio

Job Description

Summary: The Director of Production Services reports to the General Manager and is responsible for supervising Sylmar Studios’ entire set lighting, grip and equipment business. Daily oversight will involve sales, interacting with clients, overseeing billing, managing staff and

assuring the studio’s equipment is well taken care of.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Work with clients and assess what can be utilized from Sylmar Studios’ inventory

- Create price quotes for clients

- Submit and monitor orders with our sublease partners

- Monitor and keep updated client’s equipment rentals

- Create, approve and submit for processing billings to clients for both on lot and off lot services

- Approve and submit for processing invoices from vendors

- Determine purchase vs. sub-rent information

- Monitor and keep an accurate account of studio inventory

- Monitor repairs to the Sylmar Studios inventory

- Propose purchases of inventory and identify unused / obsolete equipment

- Provide high-level of customer service

- Foster relationships with vendors for competitive pricing and availability of equipment

- Filing and organization of paperwork and maintenance of the L& G Dept records

- Supervises high-level housekeeping practices as it relates to warehouse and workshop.

- Responsible for maintaining a motivated and productive team by deploying appropriate management strategies i.e., hiring, discharging, coaching, managing performance, compensating and training.

- Administers and approves timecards. Ensures that workers are aware of, trained on and complying with safety regulations and

procedures, developing additional training, as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

• College degree preferred. A minimum of 5 years managing a set lighting and grip department.

• Must be results oriented with excellent project management skills.

• Must have Valid California Driver’s License and ability to be insured in accordance with Sylmar Studios insurance requirements.

• Must be able to pass forklift certification, respirator, harness and lift training.

• Working knowledge of applicable safety and security regulations.Company Description
