Due to continued growth, we are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join and strengthen our global team.

Working as part of a dynamic global team, to support the Sales and Tendering organisation, our Electrical Engineer will be responsible for liaising with our suppliers to accurately design and cost MV electrical schemes involving high power motors and drive systems (VFD’s, transformers, induction/synchronous machines). The focus of the successful candidate will be to ensure all electrical equipment is in line with the customer requirements as detailed in the project specifications.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

Managing and interpreting customer requirements

Evaluating MV electrical systems, products, components, and finalising required interfaces between sub-vendors and client systems and associated costs in readiness for handover to Operations

Providing compliant designs, upfront engineering (Single Line Diagrams, System Block Diagrams) and accurate costings

Evaluate supplier technical proposals are in-line with the customer needs

Supporting Sales, attending bid clarification and client kick-off meetings where complex MV systems are required.

Actively participating in order review/assembly review meetings, providing guidance to projects during engineering phases

Provide technical support to New Business Projects, review project documentation

Attendance at testing of MV Electrical Equipment for ‘Special Purpose’ applications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering.

Knowledge of MV Equipment (motors, drives and transformers)

Relevant experience within related industry desirable

Knowledge of Electrical Distribution & Protection Systems and Control & Instrumentation products desirable

Design & 2D CAD skills (AutoCAD desirable)

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Ability to act independently

Flexibility & ability to adapt to change whilst maintaining attention to detail
