Position Description:Performs the planning activities associated with supporting production, final phase and service procurement requirements operating within an MRP II environment (where applicable at sites). Audits and maintains planning information and associated part/material attributes database. Responds to changes in schedules and changes resulting from engineering changes. Communicates schedules, changes to schedules or changes to requirements to cognizant Procurement personnel or supplier operational personnel when appropriate. May work closely with all levels of operational personnel within Gulfstream and approved suppliers. Responsibilities include training other level Material Requirements Planners as required. Work from a Master Schedule and independent demand sources to prepare purchase requisitions and plan supplier deliveries which support production schedules and comply with corporate inventory objectives. Establish order code policies, maintain/manage supplier lead times and ensure accuracy of data elements which comprise a computer based MRP planning system. Consolidate corporate-wide material requirements and issue schedule which support production and spare requirements to Subcontract Administrators or suppliers. Analyze material requirements necessary to support production schedules in relation to supplier delivery schedules. Identify non-congruent schedules and work with responsible Purchasing personnel to take corrective action. Sound application of requirements planning/inventory management techniques including Just In Time, reorder point and KANBAN strategies which integrate Spares, Manufacturing Operations, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality assurance and suppliers in a team environment. Develop schedules and coordinate agreement with Engineering, Purchasing and/or suppliers those activities necessary to meet effective dates of Engineering change notices. Prepare weekly report which tabulates scheduling activity, rescheduling of purchase orders, and where appropriate contributions to cash flow. Establish a working knowledge of the manufacturing process and a fundamental understanding of where his/her commodities enter the process. Identify and resolve issues to maximize customer service at the least possible cost. Frequent interaction with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Material Control and Quality personnel. Prepare status updates to Management on a routine basis. Experience/Education Required:High School graduate or GED. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 3-5 yrs exp in requirements planning, production planning, inventory control, mfg engineering. Extensive exp w/computerized mfg planning systems, 2-3 years of experience preferred. Must be able to handle fast pace, high demand and stress environment.
