Systems Engineer, Senior

Responsibilities

The Senior Systems Engineer role will support the organization’s office & jobsite systems with the management of the network, systems, and infrastructure, throughout our Client’s Midwest locations. Your work as a Senior Systems Engineer will help our Client get ahead of the curve by helping to strategically create business resiliency plans for disaster recovery. This is a full time role reporting onsite in Barrington, IL with local travel expected 10% of the time.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in information systems/technology, Computer Science or similar; relevant work experience in lieu of a degree

Minimum of 7 years of experience in systems administration

Experience in networking, security, and cloud administration.

Previous knowledge in a O365 Global Admin role

Expert knowledge of IT best practices, policies, and regulations

A clear understanding of client/server technology and network architecture

Effective communication, including writing, speaking and active listening.

Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills

Advanced leadership and conflict management skills

Customer service and interpersonal skills

Excellent attention to detail

Great project management skills, including organization, planning, time management, communication, and prioritization.The candidate must have a car, as this position requires travel between location and the transportation of equipment

A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance will be required

Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

Must demonstrate a “can-do” attitude

Desired skills:

VMware vSphere 6.x or higher

Firewall configuration and administration.

Windows and Linux Web, File and Application servers, including patch management.

Azure Active Directory and related features and functions

Microsoft SQL Server management and administration

Microsoft Exchange 2016 or newer management and administration

Backup Exec, Veeam, AvePoint, Cloud Backup systems

Endpoint antivirus technologies

NAS / SAN administration

Cisco switch, administration

Cloud Migration experience

Network security experience
