Job Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Purchaser in Memphis, Tennessee. The role focuses on managing inventory, developing shipment forecasts, and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders to ensure smooth operations. This is a key role in our Supply Chain Management team, where the successful candidate will have the chance to make a substantial impact on our operations.
Responsibilities:
• Establish collaborative relationships with stakeholders such as Sales and Marketing teams, Finance, Purchasing, and Plant Operations
• Develop and optimize Shipment Forecasts at SKU, Brand, and Customer levels
• Lead the Demand Review process with cross-functional teams, and manage New Product forecasting
• Support Business Planning Process regarding SKU Mix and Monthly Ordering, including building block consolidation and changes to optimize cost, cycle times, and inventory levels
• Conduct Statistical Analysis using shipment, consumption, and other sources of data to align with the business plan
• Lead weekly or monthly forecasting meetings and prepare supporting content in a timely manner
• Assist in building New Product Forecast Models using business-based assumptions
• Review factory production schedules against monthly production orders, and manage order fill rates with multiple factory production departments
• Provide System Support around forecasting setup, maintenance, and general product hierarchy, making recommendations for improvements
• Manage process & system improvement projects and lead the automation and simplification of manual processes in the Demand Planning Review Process
• Support Vulnerability Management & Communication and Slow Moving & Obsolete Inventory Management Process
• Troubleshoot System & Reporting Issues
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Purchaser role or similar position
• Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions
• Familiarity with IBM AS/400 and Microsoft Office Suites, including Microsoft Excel
• Experience with About Time software
• Strong understanding of Buying Processes and Component Selection
• Excellent Customer Service skills
• Previous experience in Manufacturing industry
• Knowledge of Navision software
• Proficiency in Supply Chain Management, including Global Supply Chain and Supply Chain Logistics
• Experience with MRP ERP System, MRP System, and MRP Inventory
• Familiarity with MRP - Material Requirements Planning
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred
