Metal bar grating has many applications but is primarily used as an industrial product because of its high strength, relative light weight, and design that allows for light flow and ventilation.

Primary Responsibilities: To inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, and maintain all plant machinery, equipment, buildings, and or assets as designated by Management.

* Receives instructions regarding work assignment from supervisor.

* Inspects plant equipment to determine most effective, efficient, and safe way to make all repairs.

Coordinates with Production Manager to minimize production downtime and develop working procedure to carry out plant maintenance.

* Dismantles, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, adjusts, and lubricates equipment for proper operating characteristics.

* Assembles and aligns gears, bearings and shafts, works on clutches, brakes, pneumatic and hydraulic systems; does pipe fitting and threading, plumbing, erects scaffolding and performs rigging, uses burning and welding equipment.

* Performs simple electrical repairs and removes electrical components from equipment for contractor repair as required.

* Hooks, directs, and/or operates crane in moving machinery or parts for installation, machining, or repair; assembles, aligns, levels, and adjusts machinery and equipment.

* May be required to set up and/or operate plant production equipment to perform work of a non-production nature necessary to the satisfy performance of maintenance duties.

* Performs other miscellaneous related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

* Maintains a neat, orderly work area.

* Records job time on work order, time report, and other miscellaneous reports.

* Performs routine set-ups and die changes for production equipment.

* Creates, tracks, updates, and advises reorders of necessity spare parts or parts needed for preventative maintenance tasks.

Manages maintenance inventory for raw materials and advises of stock needs as they arise.

* Consult, schedule, oversee, and approve all outside vendor repairs made at the facility.

Establishes rapport with Production Manager to ensure that all vendors are screened and routinely evaluated for performance of duties.

* Required to adhere to all safety rules and regulations and participate in safety efforts.

* Performs job functions using safe work practices.

Basic Qualifications: * High school education.

2-year associate degree program at community or technical college desired.

* Vocational school courses in mathematics and geometry, blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, metalworking, drafting and quality and safety practices are highly recommended.

* 5 - 7 years related industrial experience.

Tools & Equipment: Drill press, power saws, grinders, burning equipment, welding equipment, miscellaneous portable powered tools, hand tools, measuring devices, material handling equipment, schematics, etc.
