Job Duties: We are looking for an experienced heavy equipment mechanic to inspect, service, and maintain our range of heavy-duty construction equipment.
You will be responsible for driving to the job site, inspecting engines and equipment, carrying out services, conducting repairs, and providing routine maintenance to the construction fleet.
To ensure success as a heavy equipment mechanic, you should have proven experience working with heavy machinery, be physically fit, and be able to troubleshoot issues on the job site.
We are looking for someone who is a team player who works well under pressure and can work independently to complete tasks.
Responsibilities: Driving to the job site (Killeen, Belton, Temple areas and occasionally San Antonio) to inspect or service machinery.
Inspecting trucks, excavators, loaders, backhoes, etc.
and other heavy equipment for proper performance.
Diagnosing needed repairs.
Procure approximate parts costs for needed repairs.
Communicate approximate repair costs to management.
Order repair parts as needed.
Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts.
Repairing damaged equipment parts.
Performing major repair work when necessary.
Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management.
Any additional duties assigned.
Requirements: Skills/Requirements: Good communication skills.
Proven work experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic.
Ability to lift heavy machinery.
Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment.
Ability to work after-hours if required.
Pass a background check to access military instillation.
High school diploma or GED.
Certification as a heavy equipment mechanic.
