Under the leadership of the Dean of Students, the Assistant Director of Compliance and Student Conduct (SUA3) provides leadership in the area of student conduct by implementing processes, programs, and services to address behavioral issues.

The position is responsible for ensuring students' compliance with Cheyney University's Student Code of Conduct and Student Housing Policy (for residential students) as well as the University's compliance with certain institutional and State System policies and relevant laws.

The Associate Director oversees and manages the student judicial process including conducting investigations of allegations, organizing hearings, overseeing the development and implementation of educational and restorative sanctions, ensuring that sanctions given comply with established guidelines, and ensuring the sanctions are enforced.

The role develops and executes interventions that support individual student well-being and development while balancing the safety and needs of the University community.

The Associate Director serves as University's Student Conduct Officer and as such provides consultation to the University's leadership, responds to concerns regarding student behavior, and addresses situations through formal and informal avenues.

Student Conduct Duties: * Provides effective leadership for the Office of Student Conduct, guided by the vision, mission, and strategic priorities of Cheyney University.

* Coordinates the operationalization of the Student Code of Conduct and Housing Policy, including the development, implementation, and assessment of policies and procedures.

* Oversees and manages the student judicial process including conducting an investigation of allegations, organizing hearings, overseeing the development and implementation of educational and restorative sanctions, ensuring the sanctions given comply with established guidelines, and ensuring the sanctions are enforced.

* Recruits, trains, oversees, and assesses the performance of judicial panel volunteers; including removing individuals from the pool of volunteers due to subpar performance.

* Investigates alleged offenses of the Student Code of Conduct and/or Student Housing Policy and related policies and procedures.

* Serve as the liaison and primary point of contact with Campus Safety and Police and local police departments regarding student behavior.

* Responds to internal and external requests related to student conduct history and records.

* Responds to parent calls and inquiries.

* Maintain collaborative relationships with academic affairs leaders to address the intersections of student behavior and academic success.

* Engages and collaborates with Student Life Leaders, faculty, and academic affairs administrators to advance awareness of the Student Code of Conduct and support a positive, value-based campus culture.

* Serve as a member of the Student Life emergency response staff.

* Provides to designated University Leaders quarterly summaries of judicial outcomes.

* Prepares documentation and compliance with the Campus Security Act and the Clery Act; works closely with surrounding law enforcement to ensure proper recording and reporting.

* Implements a centralized compliance program.

* Leads the University's efforts on Drug-Free Schools and Campuses compliance.

Minimum Qualifications: Selection Criteria: Minimum Education, Training, and Experience * Bachelor's degree in related discipline.

Master's preferred.

* Minimum of 3 years working in Higher Education with diverse young adult population.

* The employee must have a minimum of four years relevant experience preferably in higher education and must have experience working with students on social, personal, and developmental issues.
