Birch Hill Catering in Schodack, NY is looking for one wedding sales assistant to join our 74 person strong team. We are located on 1 Celebration Way. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, and engaged. This is a fun and exciting role for a sharp detail oriented individual who possesses a great personality, an engaging smile and the desire to see flawless execution of our guests having the best day of their lives. Birch Hill Catering is always growing its team and we are looking for an Assistant to our Event Sales Managers to join us. This person will work closely with all areas of the business but primarily focused on assisting with weddings and daily tasks. The right candidate will be eager to learn more about the hospitality and wedding industry!

Responsibilities

· The ideal applicant will be outgoing, detail oriented, and dedicated to providing exceptional client service

· The Event Planning Assistant will also have excellent communication and the ability to work in a team environment to meet quality expectations (both oral and written)

· Assisting in onsite wedding setup, execution, and breakdown

o Finishing touches day-of

o Greeting wedding parties

o Assisting Ceremony Coordination

o Assisting formalities

o Coordinating cake cutting

· Running and assisting ceremony rehearsal with décor drop-off

· Responding to client emails

· Arranging and coordinating rentals Assisting the sales team with Weddings and special events, working closely with the bridal party, fluffing wedding gowns, organizing the introduction line up

Qualifications

• Prior experience interacting with clients

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Experience in maintaining and building enriching business relationships

• Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking, time management, and meticulous attention to detail

• Ability to handle pressure and make split-second decisions

• Willing to master the art of sewing dress straps and ripped seams, pinning boutonnieres, popping champagne, buttoning and bustling bridal gowns, bribing kids down aisles and other random, yet necessary skills

Educated, Speaks and presents well, Truly likes people and seeing them enjoying themselves.

A hospitality background would be nice but not necessary, a strong computer background in particular social networking are a plus. The days and hours are somewhat flexible, the foods are great, the role to a large degree is helping with the coordination and planning as well as execution of our guests wedding celebrations
