Title: Member of Technical Staff, Failure Analysis and Cell Development Date: May 16, 2024 Location: CA, US Work Location Type: On-site Company: QuantumScape Corporation Description: QuantumScape developed the industry's first anode-less cell design, which delivers high energy density while lowering material costs and simplifying manufacturing.

Our innovative battery cell technology can store energy more efficiently and reliably than today's lithium-ion batteries.

ROLE: QuantumScape is seeking a highly-motivated researcher to further improve the performance of our novel solid-state battery materials.

You will learn how the technology works, develop new techniques for device fabrication and characterization, and work with the broader team to improve our materials and processing.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: * Work in our state-of-the-art lab, developing new methods for cell teardown and failure analysis * Characterize physical and electrochemical properties of battery materials and devices using state-of-the-art analytical methods * Collaborate with colleagues from multiple fields to ensure that device performance goals are met * Deliver high-quality technical reports to colleagues SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: * You have a sound understanding of materials science fundamentals * You are self-motivated and have a track record of learning new skills and techniques, and applying those to achieve results * You are comfortable working in a glovebox, dry room, or fume hood * You thrive in a fast-paced environment, and adapt quickly to changes * You are a strong communicator and enjoy working on a team to solve complex challenges * You share our passion for our mission MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: MS in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related technical field or BS with a minimum of 2 years experience in a research and development role HIGHLY DESIRED: * Hands-on experience in failure analysis of materials and devices * Experience with scripting languages for data analysis * Familiarity with electrochemistry or energy storage-related technologies This position is required to perform these above essential duties and responsibilities onsite at our QS offices.

Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this role has a range of $107,750 to $163,500, and a final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background.

QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan.
