Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED; Minimum of Associates Degree, or 48 semester hours of successful college credit or ability to pass a rigorous content oriented exam and assessment

Eligible to receive a valid Texas educational aide certificate

Demonstration of aptitude for work to be performed

Ability to grow professionally

Valid TEA certification

Demonstrate skills in communication-written and verbal

Demonstrate skills in working on a team

Ability to relate positively to students and staff

Demonstrate the ability to meet timelines

Demonstrate organizational skills

Physically able to intervene with aggressive students

Provide assistance to special education teacher in providing for instructional and behavioral needs of students with disabilities in the special education setting

Assist in implementation of classroom programs including behavior management, data collection, and instructional programs

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to work with children with disabilities which include challenging behaviors

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Ability to communicate effectively

Computer knowledge preferred
