Job Summary:

Performs variety of tasks on patient tray line, serves food or works register in cafeteria. Tasks include assembling patient trays according to selected menu; delivering food carts to patient areas; delivering or picking up patient trays in patient rooms; assembles for patient trays; delivering nourishments or floor stock to patient areas operating dishwasher; working in dish room or pot and pan areas; sweeping

and mopping floors; removing garbage. Responsible for cleanliness of work area and for safe and sanitary handling of food, equipment and supplies.

Duties/Responsibilities:

As assigned, works cafeteria line or patient trayline position, as per procedure located in department.

Stocks assigned work area prior to scheduled service time and restocks after service time with food and supplies.

Performs assigned duties such as delivering late trays, nourishments, floor stock, works in dish room, etc.

Cleans and sanitizes work area and equipment to meet quality standards.

Properly stores products not being used.

Practices safe food handling procedures.

Sweeps and mops floors and removes garbage.

Occasionally assembles simple food items such as nourishments, sandwiches, salads or dishes and wraps food items.

Checks equipment and work area often to make sure safety standards are being met.

Reports repair and maintenance needs to supervisor.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Interpersonal skills must be well-developed.

Should possess the initiative and ability to set and achieve high standards of performance.

Ability to make progress on multiple assignments under time constraints.

Ability to learn specific job duties and complete detailed work assignments.

Ability learn and maintain knowledge of basic concepts and techniques.

Ability to perform the manipulation of numbers and basic math calculations.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Some previous food service experience preferred.
