Heavy Equipment Operator - Hampton Roads

Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator - Hampton Roads Department: Grading Reports to: Project Superintendent Major Role and Purpose: * Operates Heavy Industrial Equipment such as Dozer's, Excavators, Backhoes or other grading or excavating equipment to move and level materials, such as dirt and gravel.

Description of Duties: * Monitors the activity within the site.

* Follow all safety policies and procedures.

* Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.

* The job duties described herein are not exhaustive and may be supplemented.

* Knowledge of how to operate Heavy Industrial Equipment.

* Spread dirt in fill area.

* Clear and grub area being worked.

* Run a fill area.

* Read slope stakes.

* Cut slope to the job's specifications (type of slope, ditch cut depths, and fill section heights). * Direct trucks where to dump load.

* Dress and clean up job at the completion.

* Water, oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.

* Ability to operate equipment in a safe and consistent manner.

* Willingness to work nights and weekends.

Education: * High School Diploma Preferred Preferred Experience: * 3-5 Years Operating Various Heavy Equipment * Valid Driver's License * Understand GPS grade control.
