Grade: 101 Salary: $12.22 Hourly Department: Utilities E-mail: ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Non-rotating 40 hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m.

- 5:00 p.m.

Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities Assist engineers in engineering planning, design, and construction support; Assist the Utilities Department by preparing plans and exhibits showing existing and proposed developments; Provide support to departmental goals and objectives by coordinating special projects such as the Valve Maintenance Program, Large Meter Testing Program, the Approved Materials List Program, and others.

Coordination will transport the project from the development phase to the implementation phase, to include drafting of the City Council agenda, if needed; Collect data for analysis by using the hydraulic model and database inquiries to verify the water distribution system is accurate with respect to the GIS map books; Perform investigations by analyzing data to determine problem areas within the City Utility Infrastructure; Provide information by answering questions from field personnel, City staff, engineering consultants, and the public relating to line locations, platting, utility easement, and right-of-ways as well as existing gas infrastructures; Perform field/site investigations to determine requirements applicable to alley, street, and easement vacation and abandonment; Respond to citizen complaints by investigating field operations; conducting traffic engineering studies; evaluating data obtained from studies; making recommendations to install new traffic controls; communicating with requesters to inform results of the study; and issuing work orders to install stop signs, parking restrictions and pavement markings.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Position requires two (2) years of College and must be currently enrolled.

Successful completion of a minimum grade of "C" within the twelve (12) month period of the date of application to the City's Student Intern Program.

Other Information: Basis of Rating Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.

Closing Statement Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.
