Are you a Maintenance Planner who is passionate about safety, improving reliability, and problem solving?

Join our Maintenance team at our Commerce City refinery, which is the largest refinery in the Rocky Mountain region and the only petroleum refinery in Colorado.

In this you role, you will provide daily planning support of all rotating equipment repairs ensuring equipment is maintained in a safe, cost effective manner.

This position requires close collaboration with the other Planners, the Operations and Maintenance Coordinators, the supervisors for the trades concerned, and the Scheduler.

You will identify the different steps, materials, equipment, and labor required for an optimal intervention.

Minimum Requirements: * Experience with rotating equipment in a planning, craft, supervision role * 5+ years of maintenance planning or scheduling experience and a deep understanding of maintenance practices, performance measures, scheduling tools and techniques * Continuous improvement mindset and experience increasing asset reliability * Knowledge of pumps, compressors, fans, turbines and any other rotating equipment used in industrial settings * Mechanical trade certificate, diploma, degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent technical and operational experience * High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) * Excellent ability to evaluate tasks and to establish the sequence of their execution * Good technical knowledge of requirements for materials and parts * Knowledge of the construction trades and of safety in work planning * A valid driver's license with a driving record acceptable to Suncor * Knowledge of integrated maintenance software (SAP or other) would be an asset Responsibilities: * Perform field walk down of all jobs being planned to accurately account for all job steps, equipment and craft needs * Provide detailed planning to optimize quality, efficiency and costs * Work with the Operations and Maintenance leaders to manage priorities for notifications and work orders * Maximize and improve resource productivity by identifying and coordinating the supply of parts, materials, special tools, external services and rental equipment while preparing relevant documentation * Prepare job plans with the planned cost ready for scheduling detailing parts, materials, special tools, external services and documentation, as well as the logical sequencing of associated tasks, taking into account multi-craft alignment * Work with Supply Chain, Maintenance Coordinators, and engineering to gain planning input and support a team atmosphere * Prioritize the health and safety of employees and the environment Location and other Key Details: * You will work out of our Commerce City Business Center, located at 5455 Brighton Blvd.
