Fleet Maintenance Superintendent

Description: Duties: Ability to select, train, motivate and evaluate fleet maintenance personnel; provide or coordinate staff training; work with vendors to obtain prices and find parts; approve purchase orders for the purchase of parts and supplies; assist in the development and administration of the fleet maintenance division annual budget; ability to work in and assist staff with repairs and implementation of policy communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Ability and knowledge of heavy, light and small engine repair, ability to diagnose defects and repair a wide variety of automotive and heavy equipment.

Qualifications: Operation, services and activities of a fleet maintenance and repair program; knowledge procedures, methods and techniques of light and heavy equipment maintenance repair; Completion of twelfth grade or equivalent; supplemented by specialized training in vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair.

Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate valid driver;s license.

Six(6)years of responsible experience in automotive and heavy equipment maintenance and repair including one year of supervisory or lead responsibility.
