Job Details Job Location: PUC Schools Central Office - Burbank, CA Position Type: Internship Salary Range: Undisclosed Job Shift: 10 Month Job Category: Volunteer Description Organization Overview Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC) Schools is comprised of a non-profit network of public charter schools designed to significantly increase high school graduation rates, college entrance, and college graduation rates for underserved students in North-East Los Angeles, and the North-East San Fernando Valley.

Our mission at PUC Schools is to develop and manage high-quality charter schools in densely populated urban communities with overcrowded and low-achieving schools.

The Team Member we are searching for The ideal Social Work Intern believes in, and is passionate about the mission and commitments of PUC Schools and exhibits this through their leadership, reflection, execution of school culture, and collaboration to ensure student success.

Interns will have the opportunity to work under the Director of Student and Parent Engagement and Advocacy for PUC Schools as your Field Instructor.

Interns will be part of a team that creates opportunities and connects families and students to resources for their well-being and academic growth.

Interns will be in direct communication with student services coordinators, school specialists, teachers, parents, and students.

Interns are essential partners in helping schools provide services, mentorship, and accountability and in developing new intervention programs.

What you will need to accomplish: * Communicate college course expectations in a timely manner to Field Instructor * implement, manage, and monitor Student Success Plans and Family Success Plans * Support school personnel in communicating, documenting, and tracking student and/or family progress in terms of goals and services provided * Meet on a weekly basis with the Field Instructor for learning opportunities, review cases, strategize, professional development, documentation, and progress communication * Partake in trainings geared to establish relationships with individual students, parents or the whole family as a case manager * Engage with our students and families working alongside educators, administrators, specialists, and community agencies providing wrap-around services to our students and their families * Research new ways to improve students' wellbeing * Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications What do we require from you?

Minimum Qualifications Education: * Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in Social Work, or related field Skills needed and part of team development: * Communication * Listening and speaking * Writing * Electronic * Social Media and online platforms * Collaboration * Research and Inquiry * Search and seek for needs * Search and seek out Community Partners for resources and services * Documentation * Calendaring * Time management * Reminders * Monitor the progress of services Important traits needed: * Cultural Sensitivity * Moral Compass * Strong Values and Ethics * Open Mindedness The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Occasionally required to kneel, climb and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift up to 30 pounds.

To bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below.

Always required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, belts, etc.
