Job Description: Banquet Captain
Reports To: Private Event Manager
Job Summary
The Banquet Captain is a working supervisor directly responsible for the training, supervision, and support of the private events service staff and for the smooth execution of member and private events at the club.
Activities & Responsibilities
Member/Private Events
o Ensure that stations and pre-meal side work is ready for service.
o Assists with pre-shift meetings to ensure proper communication.
o Greets Members/Guests with a hospitable smile.
o Is well versed in all a banquet menus, wines, beverages and service methods.
o Works hands on training staff to the standards set forth in the MGC service training manual.
o Assists the private event manager in the supervision and adherence of policies and procedures.
o Communicates well with staff and management at all times.
o Practices MGC service etiquette and protocols as outlined in the MGC server training manual.
o Checks with tables to ensure Member/Guest satisfaction.
o Assists with nightly closing duties to ensure proper supervision of tasks.
o Assists with training of POS operations and issues.
o Assists with ensuring proper POS closing procedures are followed.
o Keeps tables, chairs, dining rooms and service station clean at all times.
o Advises management of any complaints as soon as they occur.
o Ensures assigned closing duties, i.e., re-setting dining room, re-stock service station, clean up and closing duties as assigned by the private manager are complete.
o Completes server report/end of night reports, and submits to accounting as appropriate.
o Ensures that staff adheres to standard uniform policy as outlined in MGC server training manual.
o Arrives on time and ready to work each shift in adherence to the weekly schedule.
o Works clean and efficiently in all areas of clubhouse including shared kitchen spaces.
o Fulfills any and all tasks assigned by the Private Manager and Director of Food and Beverage.
o Ensures an exceptional dining experience to our members and guests by actively serving tables.

o Able to execute high quality events in many outlets
o Ability to Lead a Team by example
Minimum Qualifications
o Able to communicate clearly to the members, guests and staff of Monroe Golf Club.
o Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
o Able to lift up to 50lbs, reach, bend and stoop.
o Able to work well in stressful situations.
o Able to work as part of a team.
o Minimum 5yrs as lead server or captain in upscale hotels, resorts, clubs or restaurants with event services
