Return to Job Listings Staff Accountant (TN, Chattanooga) TN, Chattanooga Five Star Food Breaktime Solutions is looking for a full-time staff accountant at our Corporate Office in Chattanooga, TN.

Five Star is an industry leader in micro-markets, full-line vending, pantry, coffee and water services, full-service dining, catering, fresh food production, secured delivery, and sustainable products.

Job functions will include the following: * Top Tier functions: * Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, work papers, accruals and variance analysis * Assist with month, quarter, and year end close * Maintain balance sheet reconciliations * Work with operations to ensure accurate accruals and financials * Using Excel and other applications * Maintain a thorough understanding of the general ledger * Additional functions: * Prepare and gather supporting documentation and explanations for monthly financial reporting, budgeting/forecast, and analysis for Senior Management * Assists in development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting controls * Assist in collecting data to determine costs of business activity as required * Ensures compliance with Five Star accounting procedures * Manage workload and prioritize job tasks in order to meet deadlines * Comply with corporate policies and procedures * Other duties as assigned Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited College or University required * Thorough knowledge and skills in general accounting * Ability to work independently * Strong analytical and problem solving abilities * Well organized and able to accomplish a variety of tasks in an efficient and timely manner * Excellent communication and organization skills * Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines * Familiarity with GAAP * Familiarity with the MS Office Professional suite, particularly Excel, including complex formulas and calculations Benefits: * Paid Vacation: Enjoy a well-deserved break with 2-weeks of paid vacation.
