Premier Medical Resources is seeking a full-time Medical Collections Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have relevant industry knowledge in third-party payers.

**This position would be eligible for Hybrid schedule upon successful completion of 90-days of employment**

**$2,000 dollar sign on bonus**

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for managing, monitoring, and collecting payments on accounts from all Third-Party Payers and patients

Actively initiates contact to patients with past due balances

Responds to insurance company correspondence including requests for information and claim review

Works with insurance providers to resolve outstanding claims and appeal any denied or unpaid claims

Performs ongoing trend analysis on third party payer payment levels to ensure that reimbursement is in accordance with allowable amounts stated in agreements and contracts. Works with appropriate individuals to resolve discrepancies

Processes and posts patient payments daily to ensure account balances correctly reflect the current balance due

Researches and processes all refund requests within the insurance contractual obligations and state and federal laws

Maintains confidentiality of medical records

Answers billing office phone calls

Responsible for handling the accounts receivable for 3rd parties

Guides the functions of the department in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, and standards

reviews department policies, procedures, manuals, etc., at least annually, and participates in making recommended changes

Interprets department policies and procedures to personnel, patients/family members, etc., as necessary

Performs other related duties as assigned to support the hospital

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Demonstrates critical thinking skills, ability to organize and respond to urgent or emergent situations.

Demonstrates decision-making skills based on accurate information and/or analysis of data.

Strong Communication skills.

Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes, ICD-10 codes and procedures, technical job knowledge, and Third-Party payer requirements and reimbursement rules.

Problem solving skills.

Patience and ability to manage stress.

Excellent typing and 10-key speed and accuracy.

Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs including World, Outlook, and strong Excel skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED

Bilingual Required (English/Spanish)

Three (3) years of Insurance Collections/billing Reimbursement experience in a hospital setting
